"Give unto the LORD the glory due unto His name; worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness." Psalm 29:2

Homecoming

This is homecoming weekend at my college, my final one as an undergraduate. But NOT my last one ever. I know I will always be welcome on campus. I will always have a home to come back to and place in the hills and place in the ‘pink bubble’ surrounded by beauty and nature. I know that I had found my educational home when I walked on campus. The feeling was amazing…almost like the day of my conformation but not quite…but what an amazing feeling, a feeling I have loved rediscovering over the past few weeks. To see the Alumna office welcome Alumni home and see the faces of those alums, both young and distinguished; To hear the stories of their days here at OUR school was a fantastic gift!

But this weekend had more in store….one more gift….this weekend at mass, a young boy was welcomed home. He was baptized into the Roman Catholic. His family has been studying the faith for a few weeks now. He was darling standing there in white and clearly understood what his parents and godparents were agreeing to and even agreed to the baptismal promises himself.  Welcome HOME and my prayers with this young man and his family!

The above song and video means a lot to me with in terms of my faith and personal life. This song is both a reminder that GOD will ALWAYS welcome me home, no matter what, as well as a reminder that the military men are deserving of that welcome home, too. I blessed enough to live the military brat life. Let me tell you that they LOVE the welcome home…it is a very emotional and moving experience, as is coming home to GOD!

Dominus vobiscum
